Are you struggling to find the time to keep up with your SEO efforts? Trust me, you’re not alone. It can be challenging to juggle all the tasks needed to improve your website’s rankings while also managing other aspects of your business.
But fear not, because today we will talk about making time for SEO and how you can effectively prioritize your efforts.
First, it’s crucial to understand that SEO is not a one-time task or a set-it-and-forget-it strategy. It requires ongoing work and dedication to see results. So, let’s dive into some practical tips to help you manage your time and make the most out of your SEO journey.
Create an SEO schedule
Schedule dedicated time for SEO tasks in your calendar, just as you would for other important business activities. Whether it’s an hour every day or a specific day of the week, having a consistent schedule will help you stay on track and ensure that SEO remains a priority.
Set clear goals and priorities
There are numerous tasks involved in doing SEO, but you can tackle them based on priorities.
🔗 Do you want to increase domain authority? Build backlinks
📝 Do you want to attract more traffic? Write content
⚙️ Do you want to improve indexing? Do on-page optimization
All of the actions above (and more) are needed, but if you clearly understand your objectives, you can effectively prioritize your SEO tasks and allocate time accordingly.
SEO tools are your friends
Leverage SEO tools to streamline many of your tasks and save time. Things like keyword research, on-page audits, reporting, and progress tracking can be easily done with tools like Ahrefs, LowFruits, and KatLinks. Free tools like Google Search Console, Google Keyword Planner, and ChatGPT can also be extremely helpful.
Delegate and outsource
If you have a team or can afford to outsource certain tasks to a freelancer, don’t hesitate to do so. Keyword research, content creation, or technical optimizations are tasks you could delegate to experts who can efficiently handle these responsibilities.
Here’s an idea, figure out what you enjoy doing, and focus on that. For example, do you like to write? Then work on creating your content, but delegate the technical SEO part to someone else.
Analyze and refine
Set a specific day of the month to review your SEO performance, track key metrics, and analyze the results of your efforts. This will help you understand what’s working and what needs improvement. Don’t get caught up on your metrics every day. It’ll be time-consuming, and since you may not see movement daily, you’ll just get frustrated. Pick a day for SEO analysis, and stick to it.
As I mentioned at the start, SEO is an ongoing process, and it’s all about the long game. Consistency is key, so keep going even if you don’t see immediate results. Stick to your plan, adapt as needed, and remain focused on your SEO goals.
